Join us in the next steps for The Common

Dear friends

Our church, The Common, faces a challenge, and we are looking for people to partner with us in various ways as we seek to address and meet this challenge. Approximately 105,000 people live in the City of Melville and approximately 95,000 to 100,000 are not part of a Christian community. It is a tragedy that so many people in our immediate vicinity do not know the grace and mercy of their maker. We long to see 53 Missional Communities launched and 8 Churches planted across the city of Melville and beyond, whether they be under the banner of The Common or independent for the glory of Jesus.

Our Niche: We love Willagee, the city of Melville and beyond. We do this by planting and participating in Missional Communities where members love one another, and reach out to the wider community with that love, for the glory of Jesus. This is our niche, and we call it living Common Lives.

Next Steps: Our Board, after months of prayer and then a focused time of fasting and prayer, believe God is calling us to grow into being a solid and established church. This church is to function as a launch pad from which Missional Communities can be planted and empowered. Growing to be an established sending church is our next step and it requires us to gather resources to move forward.

This would initially include 5 areas of funding:

  • Employing James as our senior pastor for an additional 2 days

  • Employing younger ministry leaders part time

  • Potentially increasing administration staff

  • Funding more missional and ministry endeavours to the margins

  • Funds to help make our next meeting space safe for children

We require a substantial amount to make this possible for 2024, and are looking to God and his people within and outside of The Common for this provision.

We would love to have you partner with us by praying and considering to give financially towards our next steps.

Please feel free to contact us to find out more details of our financial requirements and goals, or how you can join us in this adventure in other ways!
