How we do Church
UP Gatherings
An UP is what many think of as "church". We call it UP as it directs our focus upwards, that is towards God. During an UP the smaller groups (Missional Communities) come together for corporate worship. The Common runs these gatherings on Sundays at 4pm at the Willagee Community Centre.
Missional Communities
An MC is a group of 8-15 people, who are united through Christian community around a common mission / witness to a particular neighbourhood or network of relationships. The MC doesn’t exist for anything less than making disciples of Jesus among these networks or neighbourhoods.
The participants of MCs find their primary identity of “church” as much in the MC as they might in a larger worshipping service. In essence, an MC becomes a close - knit spiritual family on mission together.
“Small enough to care and big enough to dare”. The MC is small enough to know each person in it well and large enough to be on corporate mission together.
We are friends with Soma Australia who help train and empower us in this area of church life.
